Naked Raku is a unique firing technique in which pots are placed into the kiln without glaze. The striking surface effects are created entirely through the heat, flames, and atmosphere of the firing process.

Feathers, hair, and grasses leave delicate carbon impressions on the hot clay, and for Obvara, some pieces are dipped into a specially prepared yeasty batter to produce distinctive patterns and markings.

The result is a beautiful range of subtle earth tones, enhanced by smooth or richly textured clay surfaces, making each piece completely unique
